While wellness should be celebrated all year long, it takes the spotlight during the month of August. National Wellness Month focuses on self-care, managing stress and creating healthy habits, both physically and mentally.


Incorporate these practices to promote wellness in your body and mind this month — and beyond!


Ways You Can Improve Overall Wellness:

  • Meditate 10 minutes each morning
  • Take a virtual yoga class. I suggest starting Yoga with Adriene.
  • Make a conscious effort to drink more water (1/2 your body weight in oz. per day).  Try measuring out your daily water goal into a pitch in the morning.  Ah, the feeling of success is amazing when that pitcher is empty at the end of the day!
  • Get at least 8 hours of sleep per night
  • Reduce alcohol intake
  • Spend time in nature
  • Incorporate more greens and whole foods into your diet
  • Avoid caffeine after noon
  • Get 30 minutes of exercise per day.  Walking counts!
  • Incorporate occasional breaks during your work day
  • Each day list the things you’re grateful for
  • Avoid screens before bed
